LAHORE: Two explosions were heard in the Anarkali area of Lahore on Friday.

Express 24/7 correspondent Rabia Mehmood reported that Superintendent of Police (SP) Civil Lines had said the explosions could be the result of 'gaseous material' underground.

Earlier, police sources had said suspected the explosions could have been small Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) planted in the market.

There is still no confirmation of the cause.

The area has been cordoned off and an investigation is underway.

Two people also received minor injuries.

Earlier late Thursday night, a gas explosion at a hotel in Islamabad had injured six people. The explosion damaged four rooms in the hotel.
