College freshmen: Admissions to start on Tuesday

Placements forms will be available for Rs60 at 41 designated branches of the Allied Bank Limited .

KARACHI: The admissions policy for public sector colleges and higher secondary schools was announced by the Centralised Admission Policy committee on Sunday.

The admissions process will be in full swing from August 9, candidates will be applying to 132 public sector colleges and 32 higher secondary schools. Students with a higher percentage are most likely to apply to the Adamjee Government Science College, DJ Government Science College and Government Delhi Science College.

Placements forms will be available for Rs60 at 41 designated branches of the Allied Bank Limited and should be submitted by August 20. The committee added that  candidates who have completed their matriculation from Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) should submit their matriculation admit cards with the placement forms whereas A-level students have to submit photo stated copies of their marks sheet for all subjects.

An estimated 115,000 students will be applying for pre-engineering, pre-medical, commerce, computer science and home economics. Currently there are 67 public sector colleges and 12 higher secondary schools for men and 65 public sector colleges and 12 schools for women.
