The Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed US officials, said the "communications" were recovered from Bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad but that there was no evidence the "nascent plot" ever went beyond the planning phase.
"Bin Laden and his operations chief, Attiyah Abd al-Rahman, swapped views about the composition of the attack team, with Bin Laden repeatedly rejecting names that Mr. Rahman suggested," the report said.
US officials revealed in the days after the May 2 raid that killed Bin Laden that notebooks and computer files seized in the Navy SEAL operation showed he was bent on more attacks against US and Western targets.
Bin Laden wanted to strike at major US cities, including Los Angeles, and to hit trains as well as airplanes, and mentioned key dates such as America's July 4 Independence Day celebrations and the upcoming 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, they said.

"dude" do u really believe everything the media feeds u..... think for urself and open ur mind up... there are more facts that OBL wasnt there then the fact that he was... leaving behind documentary evidence well preserved despite a drone attack is one such example of facts that suggest alot of this is made up...
Now baseless and unacceptable stories being attributed after main incident. He is killed ok,he is no more right but what he wanted to do it is no matter.
@Sam - Dude, don't start with the conspiracy theory again. I am sure OBL in his mind thought he was safe in Abbotabad and why not as he was staying there for 5 years already. All other kinds of videos of him were found which we have seen on media.
so he was not only waiting like a sitting duck in abbotabad but also ensured all documents were well preserved in case of a drone attack?
