Missile strikes by suspected US drone aircraft killed 10 militants in South Waziristan.
Ilyas Kashmiri was killed in a drone strike 8-10 km from this region.
WANA:
Missile strikes by suspected US drone aircraft killed 10 militants in South Waziristan on Wednesday, intelligence officials said, in an operation bound to deepen tensions in the region.
Intelligence officials and residents said two missiles hit a compound belonging to a group headed by Maulvi Nazir that crosses the Afghan border to attack US troops in Afghanistan.
“There was a huge blast and we can see smoke rising from the compound,” said a witness in Wana, South Waziristan’s main town.
Seven militants were killed in the compound, a local intelligence official said. Missiles targeted a vehicle used by militants in the same area, killing three.
There was no way to independently verify the incident.
Militants often dismiss official death tolls. South Waziristan has witnessed an escalation of drone strikes this month, including in areas controlled by Nazir.

A drone a day, keep terrorist awayRecommend
Hmm… Is there no end to this…. I am bit confused that when it was case of OBL it is considered as a intrusion but this intrusion is taking place regularly since very long time and there seems it is to be fine for some Pakistan govt…Recommend
Today the biggest enemy of Pakistan is armed forces whether American or Pakistani doesn’t matter. Both are trying to create fear among common men. People need to rise up and protest.Recommend
Americans, carry on regardless because you can only save Pakistan and not its military.Recommend

Every drone strike makes a mockery of our parliament. If it is effective then for heaven’s sake end this double game and accept that on the floor of the house. By passing meaningless resolutions we are only making fun of our legislature. Recommend
National bird of pakistan keeps terrorists busy, while pakistan army keeps journalists busy!Recommend
Well! what could people expect from the Idiotic parliament….another Condemnation….Recommend
Pakistan should be thankful for these drones. They are doing the work the Pakistani military and government and ISI lack the guts or resolve to do. They want to go play golf in Islamabad while the rest of the country burns and suffers.
Perhaps some smart Pakistani should start the “Drones Party” to counter the idiocy of people like Imran Khan and the rest of the ghariat brigade who want Pakistan to fail.Recommend
How many terrorists and how many civilians were killied ??Recommend
It has been proved that
our parliament is not sovereign
its decisions unanimously taken are not effective in nature.
It was protested on drone attacks but they are continued,
sovereignty has been shattered around after killing Osama
bin laden in Abbottabd inside Pakistan.
After such attacks, who face counter insurgency, internal security matters,
unrest and revenge which is created among the effected people, that is question
what is its answer,American are not ready to consider it.
The stance, which is adopted by Pakistani leadership, has been fully supported
by the world that Pakistan should do that which is being done by Americans for a decade,
Drone technology must be provided to the country which is combating in its own land
a horrible terror attacks every day,the same can properly deal with it and finish it.
As have seen American has been failed in this arena, can not finish it during a long period
such as about 10 years,if Pakistan have such technology it can destroy it within very short time.
This is no matter, it is matter of days.
Drone technology must be provided to the country which is combating terrorismRecommend
I suppose the military is too busy tracking down those informants who told the USA where OBL was hiding —- maybe they should change their priorities and eliminate a few of these militant compounds located in Waziristan — seems like there locations are well known.Recommend
The only thing that this news report tells you is that 16 people died in the drone attack. There is no comment on who these people were, whether they were innocent or not. Its about time media does some sensible reporting on these critical issues.Recommend
Refreshing that thee are no more comments or speeches about violating Pakistan’s vaunted sovereignty. I suppose the politicians and military realize that the more they talk tough the weaker they look. Recommend
pakistan army has supported terrorism for a long time. Now time has come to either get apart or get involve . CIA knows the fact. that is why they say this is the turning point in US-PAK relationRecommend
Hello Parliament where are you…………………………………………. Recommend
But guys! If the drone has killed the militants then its good for Pakistan! Why is everybody hating on the Americans and the Army! The Army allows it and the US conducts it! Militants are dying so what is everyone complaining about! They targeted the militants compound after all! Not some residential area!Recommend
@Aslambeig: Huh?? what about this –>Indian massacre in Kashmir
Do you think you have a bloody face after this to point at us?? you spread disharmony amongst peacefully living Pakistanis. You think you are something that is adorable for the world. Recommend

As long as the local population does not kick the terrorists out, they have no right to complaint. It is just like, if OBL were not in that home, there would not be any attack at that home. Hopefully there would be a time when the locals would be sick and tired of the war and kick all these terrorists out of their area. Terrorist sancturies would be destroyed no matter what. Recommend
Time for Pakistani Government, Military and Opposition to come out openly and admit, they were hoodwinking the people – drones operate from Pakistan, with permission, they 99% people killed are terrorists and are good and will continue into the future….
Why is speaking the truth so difficult?Recommend
Even if drones are killing innocent Pakistanis, pakistan can do nothing to stop these drone attacks other than condemning themRecommend
