ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) issued a written verdict late on Friday, in the barbaric killing of Sarfaraz Shah by Rangers (Karachi), observing that information in the FIR contradicts actual facts.

The court established that around six uniformed men first held the victim by his hair, as seen in the video clip, after which one of them fired at him.

The firing injured Sarfaraz – who fell to his knees – crying for mercy and begging to be taken to hospital, but none of the police and Rangers officials paid any heed to his pleas - as a result of which he died on the spot.

The SC also observed Sarfaraz Shah’s killing as a barbaric act. On the other hand, IG Sindh told the court that investigations into the incident will begin once remand for the two accused persons was sought.

The court disposed of the matter and directed the trial court to conduct day-to-day hearing into the case and decide it within 30 days.

Earlier on Friday the SC had ordered the transfer of Sindh Director General (DG) Rangers and the Inspector General of Police over the killing of Sarfaraz Shah by Rangers, after taking suo motu notice of the incident.

A five-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, was formed to hear the case. An investigation team lead by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Karachi, Khwaja Sultan should complete investigations within seven days and submit a challan in court, which will complete the case within 30 days, the court said.

The court had ordered the removal of DG Rangers and IG Sindh, and asked the Interior Secretary to consult Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani over the removal of the two officials, since they were trying to influence the investigation, and directed the secretary to present a report on the action ordered against them.

Justice Javed Iqbal observed that the policy of deploying Rangers in Karachi should be reviewed and they should be told what their duty is, in both letter and spirit.

Sarfaraz Shah was shot at point blank range in a public park in an incident filmed live and broadcast on television on Wednesday. Footage of the incident, filmed by an Awaaz TVcameraman, was broadcast repeatedly on local television stations.

This nation has forgottoten what they did to the founder of the Nation Muhammad Ali Jinnah who also begged for more than one hour for life at Drig Road Karachi where the Ambulance of the "Governor General" "broke" down after he was being shifted from Ziarat to Karachi for treatment. Where stands Sarfaraz Shah?. Pakistan Ka Khuda Hafiz. Mussarat
