Policeman killed in Islamabad firing

Unknown gunmen opened fire on a police checkpost in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD: Unknown gunmen opened fire on a picket in Islamabad, killing one policeman and injuring another.

The killed policeman was identified as Constable Shamdad while the injured is said to be  Constable Haroon .

Reports say two motorcyclists were signalled to stop by police in Islamabad’s Shahzad Town’s High Road Area. But instead of stopping, the motorcyclists opened fired on the police.

The attackers then abandoned their motorcycle and fled on foot.

Police have cordoned off the area. No arrests have been made so far.
