Police arrest one suspect in Shershah murder case

KARACHI: The police have arrested one of the suspects involved in a murder committed at Shershah, Lyari Expressway.

On May 25, 22-year-old Muhammad Hanif was murdered and Imran Zafar was injured after he was pelted with stones. The suspects had threatened to kill Imran if he told the police about them. As a result, Imran ended up telling the police during interrogation that Hanif died and he was injured after an accident with a speeding truck.

The police, after their initial investigation, filed a traffic accident case. However, after a few days, the SITE B-1 police changed the case to that of murder. Special Investigations Unit (SIU), west, DSP Asghar Usman received the information that the murderers involved are residents of Shershah. After conducting raids in the area, the accused Abdul Jabbar alias Jabbar was arrested, while the police are still looking for his accomplice, Tahir.

According to DSP Usman, the accused tried to sexually abuse Hanif and Imran. When they showed resistance, they killed Hanif and injured Imran.
