ECP members finalized: Parliamentary Committee on Election Commission

The Parliamentary Committee on Election Commission finalized its recommendations for members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The committee recommended four names, representing each province.

The recommended members will hold their positions as soon as a formal notification is issued by the Prime Minister.

The names proposed are, Justice (R) Fazal-ur-Rehman from Balochistan, Justice (R) Shahzad Akbar Khan from Kyber Pakhtunkhwa, Justice (R) Mohammed Roshan Ehsani from Sindh and Justice (R) Riaz Kayani from Punjab.

If selected, each member will serve for five years. A formal notification in this regard is likely to be issued in two days.

The next meeting of the committee will be held when the Chief Election Commissioner completes his tenure and recommendations are sought for his successor.
