Minorities: New church, walls for all Christian cemeteries

Millions of rupees to be spent on the projects.

A new church will be constructed at Dhanola on Millat Road at an estimated cost of Rs1.5 million. A Punjab government spokesperson said that huge funds had been allocated for the renovation and protection of Christian worship places and graveyards in the Faisalabad district.


He said that a boundary wall would be constructed around the Christian cemetery in Sammundari tehsil Chak No192 GB Kota at an estimated cost of Rs1.5 million. The spokesperson said that another boundary wall of a different graveyard in the Chak No128-RB of Tehsil Chak Jhumra would also be completed with Rs1.5 million.

He said that Rs1.8 million has also been earmarked for the repair and renovation of the Catholic Church in Chak No5 Kamalpur and the PGA Church would also be repaired in Noorpur. Similarly, Rs1.9 million has also been allocated for the boundary wall of a Jhumra City cemetery. Meanwhile, Rs1 million are to be spent on the construction of road leading to Catholic Church in Pensara.
