MULTAN:

A Multan Education Board Chairperson raided an examination centre on Monday afternoon and booked three police officials for helping students cheat in the exam.

A Civil Lines Police station superintendent and deputy superintendent were arrested for opening the second year math question paper before the exam had started.

“The men had been revealing the details of the paper to several students and allowed them to talk among themselves,” said education official Raza Nadeem.

Under the Multan education board intermediate exams are being held in several stations around the district and the Education Board chairperson Muhammad Rasheed raided examination centres No59, 62 and found that the wrappers of question papers were opened before scheduled time and police officials were letting students discuss the paper. The chairman took action and arrested superintendent Safdar, deputy superintendent Muhammad Safdar and another official and handed them over to Gulgasht police.
