Private institutes : Iqra University ranked as top private college

The number of private universities has also gone up from 18 to 25.

Iqra University has been ranked number one among all private institutions in the province, according to the Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee (CIEC).


The committee’s report was presented to Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad, who is also the patron of all private universities, on Wednesday.

The committee ranked the universities on the basis of stars - the best institutes received six stars and the worst got only three.

The report also mentioned that the number of private, higher education institutions has increased from 18 to 25.

The number of students enrolled at these institutions has increased from 25,000 to 28,000 while the number of faculty members has increased from 2,300 to 4,000. The number of professors with a PhD has doubled to 300.
