New registrations in the Eurasian commission database point towards tech giant Apple launching two new iPad models, reported 9to5 Mac.

Earlier this week, Apple registered new devices in the Eurasian commission database. Legal obligations require devices that use encryption to be registered before release.

The new entries tip the hat that new iPad devices may be on the horizon. While the filing does not contain any information about the new devices, it does contain model identifiers which are A1893 and A1954.

According to Mashable, this information points towards the likelihood of seeing the new iPads as soon as next month.

After the release of iPhone X, rumours were abuzz that the iPad would get a similar treatment - no home button, small bezels and the notch. However, this particular device is expected to be released later this year.

9to5 Mac believes, that the most likely situation would be that the new iPads are a "refresh to the cheaper non-Pro iPad line," which lines up with their yearly refresh. The company launched the $329 9.7-inch iPad in March last year.

Moreover, the filing of new iPads also doesn't mean that we should expect an Apple event for the unveiling. The 9.7-inch iPad was launched last year without an event.
