PESHAWAR: Tribal Areas Electricity Supply Company (Tesco) has asked consumers in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) to avoid use of electricity heaters, air-conditioners and other high consumption electric appliances during the summer season.

According to a press release issued on Tuesday, Tesco said that in light of the current shortfall of electricity faced by the country, one major cause of load management and low voltage problems in Fata is lavish use of electricity by consumers, compelling the company to carry out load shedding.

All the power transformers installed at various grid stations feeding Fata are overloaded and putting further load on these transformers can cause major power failures which will increase the miseries of the people and the company manifold.

Smooth power supply can only be restored in Fata if consumers use electricity only for lighting purposes through meters.
