Robbery: Robbers kill minor girl

Robbers open fire on class two student as her mother raised alarm while they were fleeing.

RAWALPINDI: Robbers shot dead a girl in Hazara Colony area of the garrison city on Saturday, police said.

According to the Gunjmandi police two armed men entered the house of Haji Ghulam Hussain and snatched gold bangles, mobile phone and other valuables from his wife Rubina Bibi at gunpoint.

As the robbers were fleeing on foot, the women of the house raised alarm. When the residents of the locality chased the robbers, they opened fire, killing class two student, Laiba Bibi, who was going to school.

The robbers fled in presence of Muhafiz police personnel. The body of girl was handed over to police after postmortem. The residents of the area protested for a while but dispersed on the assurance of a local MPA that the culprits would be arrested soon.
