PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government will take up the 1993 apportionment formula with the federal government for determining the division of posts between the provincial and federal bureaucracy in the province, said the provincial minister for mines and mineral development Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli on Friday. The formula was devised by Moin Quershi’s caretaker government in 1993 and is among most contentious issues between the federal and provincial cadres in the province. “The formula is not a constitutional issue, instead it could be addressed through a simple statutory regulatory order. It needs to be changed and it should be changed,” Tahirkheli said at a conference. The event was arranged by the Provincial Civil Service Officers Association at Nishtar Hall.
