Fatal accident: Killer driver flees after crushing man to death

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A man was crushed to death by a truck in Dera Ghazi Khan on Tuesday. The driver managed to escape after the incident.

Police said an unidentified elderly man was walking on a roadside in Pul Shoria area within Gadai police precincts when a speeding truck hit him. As a result, the man suffered fatal injuries and died on way to the hospital while the truck driver fled the scene. The police shifted the body to Teaching Hospital for legal formalities.

Gadai Police Station Investigation Officer Aftab told The Express Tribune the accused truck driver’s identity had been ascertained and his name was Abdul Rasheed. He added, “We have also traced the truck bearing registration number AE-236 and are making efforts to arrest the killer driver.” He maintained, “We have also sent the finger prints of the deceased to NADRA to ascertain his identity.”
