3-Year Certification: Plan launched to strengthen SMEs 

The CIP will help ensure better quality of products and services, which will help boost exports of the country

KARACHI: The Federal Ministry of Science and Technology has launched a three-year certification initiative programme (CIP) to strengthen small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and to protect the rights of consumers. The CIP costing Rs750 million will help ensure better quality of products and services, which will help boost exports of the country, said Federal Secretary Science and Technology Fazal Abbas Meccan at a seminar on creating awareness about CIP. He said that the government was trying its best to benefit SMEs through certification. CIP was the third project related to certification and the ministry is determined to make this one more successful in comparison to the earlier two projects.
