KARACHI: The 26th annual Gotham Independent Film Awards took place at Cipriani Wall Street on Monday night and some of the award season’s biggest names stepped out for the glamorous affair. Kate Beckinsale, Janelle Monae and more high-wattage celebrities hit the red carpet in downtown New York City, for the event that honours the best independent films of the year. Here’s how these two leading ladies put their best foot forward in monochrome ensembles.

Kate Beckinsale

The actor looked drop-dead-gorgeous in a black halter-neck gown from Marchesa’s spring 2017 collection. The feathered collar brought balance to her asymmetric neckline. Embellished with flower corsage detailing and a cutout at the bodice, the dress was a winner on the red carpet. We love how Beckinsale opted for smokey eyes and a nude pout, both of which added glamour to her overall appeal. The Love & Friendship star left her blonde locks loose over one shoulder and looked flawless.

Janelle Monae

The Moonlight actor looked sophisticated in a monochrome number. While it seemed like she was wearing a dress, the Christian Siriano outfit was actually a jumpsuit paired with a top. Different textures such as frills and shimmer made Monae stand out from afar. Known to be daring with her style, the starlet’s dress wasn’t blingy enough for her and she accentuated it with chunky silver jewellery and a sparkly clutch. A pink lip and long dangly earrings completed Monae’s ensemble.
