LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has called upon the government to explain to the masses how much loans it has obtained since coming into power and where the amount has been spent.

Talking to the media after inspecting arrangements for the party’s gathering at Wahdat Road ground on October 28, the senator said drug and sugar mafias and smugglers had taken refuge in political parties, which were playing in the hands of these criminals simply to remain in power.

Terming the JI a truly democratic and progressive party, Siraj said the party would go to any extent to free the nation from
the clutches of the plunderers.

He also appealed to the masses to free themselves from the hold of the people who had wasted 70 precious years of the nation and were pushing the country backwards instead of going forward.
