LAHORE: A mixed price trend was witnessed in the weekly Sunday bazaars in the provincial capital, prices of most seasonal vegetables remained stable compared to last week.

The official price list issued by the Lahore Market Committee showed steep increases in the prices of brinjals, bottle gourds and turnips which rose 67%, 60% and 43% respectively. Brinjals were available at Rs45 to Rs50/kg, bottle gourds at Rs35 to Rs40/kg and turnips at Rs50/kg.

While, bitter gourd,  cauliflower, taro roots (arvi), ladyfingers, green chillies and potatoes also showed marginal increase in prices.

The highest decrease in prices was witnessed for tomatoes, local cucumbers and Chinese lemons at 33%, 30% and 29% respectively. Tomatoes were selling for Rs35 to Rs.40/kg, local cucumbers at Rs30 to Rs35/kg and Chinese lemons at Rs55 to Rs60/kg. The prices of onions, local garlic, Chinese garlic, Chinese ginger, spinach, cabbage, green peas and radishes remained stable.
