QUETTA: Arrest warrants of Sardar Yar Mohammad, a member of the opposition in the Balochistan Assembly, and six other people have been issued by a judicial magistrate for their alleged involvement in a landmine explosion in Dadhar area of Kachhi district.

An FIR was lodged against the accused on the request of Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani in the Dadhar Levies Force station.

One person was killed while another sustained injuries in the explosion which took place in Mehar Garh, the site of thousands of years old civilization, on February 3 last year.

Sardar Yar Mohammad, chief of Rind tribe, his son Sardar Khan Rind and others have been nominated for their alleged involvement in the incident.

The chief minister stated in his application that the caretaker of lands owned by the Raisani family, in the area where the incident took place, was killed as a result of the explosion.

Judicial magistrate Dadhar has issued non-bailable warrants against Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind and others, which include his son. He has a blood feud with the Raisanis dating back to the late 1970s.

Yar Mohammad Rind has never attended the assembly sessions barring the day on which he was administered oath.
