BAHAWALPUR: The Punjab government has allocated a massive development budget of Rs147 billion for sustainable development in the agriculture sector. The funds are meant to boost agriculture, livestock, fisheries and forest to effectively meet the challenges of food security.

These details were shared by Punjab Cooperatives Minister Iqbal Channer on Saturday while speaking as the chief guest at the ceremony to distribute motorcycles among field assistants of Bahawalpur district.

“Better mobility through motorcycles will enable the field assistants to provide guidance and necessary training to farmers, enhancing their technical skills,” said Channer, who also heads the Cholistan Development Authority.
