PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA) and district bar observed a strike and boycotted court proceedings across K-P on Monday. Pakistan Bar Council gave the call for a strike to protest against the Quetta bomb blast which killed more than 70 people, mostly lawyers.

“Targeting innocent and unarmed people is not an act of bravery. Islam condemns killing of innocent people,” PHCBA General Secretary Yousuf Ali said. He urged the government to implement the National Action Plan in letter and spirit to take tangible action for the protection of lawyers.

A large number of lawyers from the PHCBA and different district bars across K-P were led by PHCBA President Muzzammil Khan. They protested outside the Parliament House in Islamabad on Monday.
