ISLAMABAD: A man has requested the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to initiate criminal proceedings against an official of the Norwegian embassy and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) DG for “misusing court orders” and for their alleged role in transporting his wife and daughters to the Scandinavian country.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar issued notice to the FIA DG, Muhammad Amlish, for October 6th, on Monday with directions to submit a reply in the case as the petitioner has alleged that he had asked the agency officials to stop his wife and children but they did not entertain his request.

Petitioner Bilal Rasheed through his counsel Barrister Masroor Shah said that petitioner’s Norwegian wife, Missra Hosseini, took his two minor daughters out of the country in connivance with the embassy officials, and the FIA did not stop the passengers from getting onboard despite being informed.

He has named an official of the Norwegian embassy, Sjlia, his wife and the FIA DG as respondents.

Initially, Shah said, Norwegian embassy had filed a habeas corpus petition before the IHC saying that Rasheed had detained his Norwegian wife at his home.

He said that the petition was filed at the complaint of Hosseini’s friend in Oslo.

The court summoned Rasheed and Hosseini on July 21st where Hosseini recorded her statement saying she was willfully residing in Pakistan. Subsequently, the case was disposed of.

However, Sjlia — requested the court the embassy needed to record Hosseini’s statement inside the embassy.IHC allowed the plea and directed Hosseini to record her statement inside the embassy.

Shah said Rasheed along with his wife, daughters and the embassy officials reached the embassy where he was asked to stay outside. Shah added the petitioner stayed outside the embassy till late but no one came out.

Moreover, he said, on the same day at about 11pm, the petitioner heard that his wife in connivance with the embassy officials went to the airport.

He rushed to the airport and told the FIA officials, while showing them court orders.

Shah said all his efforts remained unsuccessful.

He contended that the respondents had committed gross contempt of the court and was liable to be punished in accordance with the law.
