RAWALPINDI:

The runway of the Benazir Bhutto Airport (BBIA) remained closed for almost an hour late Monday night due to a minor incident. According to sources at the airport, one of the tyres of a CASA plane of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) burst during landing at around 10pm but the pilot managed to land the plane safely. Later, the plane was moved to the Chaklala Airbase with the help of a tug master. This took around 45 minutes to an hour during which the airport runway was kept shut. When the Daily Express contacted the Civil Aviation Authority spokesperson Fariha Tahir Shah, she expressed ignorance about the incident and nor did she had any information about the closure of the runway.
