Two dead in Lahore shrine attack

Blast occurred at gate of Haider Saeen's shrine, police confirm it was an improvised explosive device (IED).

A bomb blast at the shrine of Haider Sain near Minar-e-Pakistan on Thursday night left two people dead and injured around 22 others.

The incident occurred at the second day of the three-day urs of the saint. A higher number of devotees visit the shrine on Thursdays.

The blast spread panic in the area. A heavy contingent of police reached the spot and cordoned off the area, by blocking Ravi Road and Circular Road. Ambulances of Rescue 1122 and Edhi Foundation shifted the injured to Mayo Hospital and Nawaz Sharif Hospital.

The bomb, which was planted at the entrance of the one-room-shrine, shattered its glass windows.

The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) immediately reached the spot and cleared the adjoining areas. According to the squad personnel, high explosive material was used in the blast.

Superintendent of Police Shahzad Asif said the explosives were thrown from a truck in front of the shrine, adding that this was a minor blast.

Answer:because extremists hate their soft message of universal love and unity. Besides, extremist's consider visiting mazars as shirk and since it does not fit their interpretation of Islam they want to blow up people who go to such places....to deter others Next they will blow up people having halwa puris on Sunday...i.e if they dont like such behavior. This is the question when will be answered will reveal the terrorists. A clue can be where, by , design. such incidence are happening apart from Pakistan? Iraq? Yes, Afghanistan? yes. What is common in all three countries? American direct involvement in all three? Yes. Two , Iraq and Afghanistan Direct Occupation and in Pakistan direct intervention through drones? Yes. Moreover, our Dear Neighbor 's RAW is also sitting in Afghan consulates since this war started.? yes. Who is Fightinh War on Terror? What is war on Terror? Where and why are they terrorists? Are occupiers Terrorists too? People must answer these questions before we start Abusing each others. We need to discover the real benificiary behind all this? Because those who are killed and those who kill are not the benificiaries.

They are doing their best as are all Pakistani civilians who are more mindful of strange objects and strange behaviour among people. Let's face it, a criminal bent on blowing himself up and hurting innocent civilians is hard to stop. Invariably our police have consistently stopped such criminals at the gate and have minimized death and injury- often at the expense and sacrifice of their own lives. This type of cowardly act only shows the desperation of the anti state criminals. The public is against them and they are losing day by day despite their desperate attempts to scare the populace.

They are making enemies of the citizens and suffusing hatred 'per se'. The responsibility of the government is to expose the groups behind suicide and bomb blasts. But no they will not do it because it is a matter of national security and the public will not understand the undercurrents behind these predominant intrigues. Salams for 2011.
