LAHORE: A state-of-the-art laboratory of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Pattoki had started providing amino acid analysis to the feed sector, a statement issued on Friday said.

“This facility will not just promote research but also greatly benefit the feed sector in the country,” UVAS Vice Chancellor Talat Naseer Pasha said.

He said results of amino acid analysis would pave the way for adequate and economical feed formulation.

Pasha said the laboratory was offering a unique facility that had hitherto not been presented to the feed industry by any educational institution.

“The laboratory is also capable of conducting a biological trial to establish the presence of digestible amino acids in poultry,” Pasha said.

The vice chancellor said the quality of poultry and livestock feed would improve following the introduction of the services at the laboratory.

This, he said, would raise productivity levels in the livestock and
poultry sectors and strengthen the national economy.
