Ayyan Ali, who was arrested from the airport last year over accusations of money laundering, was barred from travelling to Dubai by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at Karachi's airport.

According to Express News, the supermodel was set to leave for Dubai in Emirates airlines flight EK-609, scheduled to leave at 7.45pm.

Following a number of rounds of hearings and petitions, the Sindh High Court (SHC) had ordered on June 2 the removal of her name from the ECL.

SHC once again orders removal of Ayyan Ali’s name from ECL

Customs authorities had arrested her in March 2015 on charges of money laundering after officials recovered $506,000 from her luggage at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad when she was going to Dubai.

In July last year, she was granted bail after spending about four months in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi.

Sources said Ayyan's name had again been put under the ECL, which is why she was stopped from flying.

Ishrat salim | 7 years ago | Reply On my leaving Pakistan in April 16, I was asked by a custom officer how much American dollar was carrying. When I showed him a total amount of $1500 I was told that as per SBP rule I cannot carry more than $10,000. And here is ms Ayyan who was caught carrying $500,000 and now being allowed to go abroad without conclusion of her case. What kind of justice is this ? I heard her lawyer Mr khosa saying on TV that it was her own personal money. Is this not contrary to what the custom officer told me at the airport ? And I confirm custom officer words after I checked SBP website. So, what kind of country Pakistan is ? One rule for all others and one rule for ms Ayyan Ali ? No wonder we are in a mess.
