If there is one role Abhishek Bachchan considers extremely close to his heart, it’s that of ACP Jai Dixit from Dhoom. Terming it his first ever commercial success in Bollywood, the actor feels he will never outgrow the role.

“I will never outgrow that role. It is too close to my heart. It was my first ever success. Based on that alone, I will do it (more roles) forever if they (Yash Raj Films) ask me to. It’s more of an emotion for me than anything else,” The Indian Express quoted Abhishek as saying.

For someone who has been a part of all three instalments of the franchise, surprisingly, he believes the next Dhoom film can be made without him or the popular character he played.

Explaining his reason for believing the same, Abhishek said, “Dhoom can be made without my character. A couple of years ago, I wouldn’t have agreed. However, the franchise has now established itself. The name itself is enough. You can always change the characters and get someone else to make the film,” added Abhishek. However, he revealed he is not sure when the next part will roll out.

Drawing parallels with Housefull, Abhishek quipped, “Housefull doesn’t have any common thread apart from the basic format that is running throughout the films. The characters are never the same. Dhoom is established enough now. It can do without Jai Dixit and Ali (Uday Chopra).”
