What’s the one lesson you’d want to give your children?

Humility.

In your experience, when can mothers tell they are being lied to?

My mother could tell I was going to lie about something a day before I did it! I guess it’s an inbuilt instinct mothers have, regarding their children exclusively!

What’s the best thing about getting a day to celebrate motherhood?

Mothers should be celebrated everyday but the best thing about getting a day is the undivided quality time with the most important woman in my life.

It would definitely be with an unwavering faith, a positive outlook towards life and to be grateful for every little moment.

In your experience, what are the best two moments in anyone’s life?

Watching your children grow up to be good human beings and raising your grandchildren.

What’s better — being a mother or a grandmother?

Although nothing can compare to the feeling of being a mother or the relationship you have with your children, I truly enjoy being a grandmother to Khizer and Zoay. It’s like getting another chance at being a parent and all you want to do is spoil them rotten.

Since both my children are very young, when they are lying they have naughty expressions on their faces.

I always tell them to do their best and work hard — the outcome doesn’t matter. It’s also important to go through life being a good person.

It’s so important to have a day to celebrate mothers, to show them how much we appreciate them and all the work they do.

The two best moments in my life were, first being a mother and then being a grandmother.

What’s better — being a mother or a grandmother?

I love my daughters, they are wonderful and they’ve given me the best grandchildren!  I’d have to say being a grandmother is better though, because you get to have fun with the children and don’t have to discipline them.

My grandmother has always taught me how to be a better person and to be open-hearted. She’s given me a lot of life lessons to learn from.

What do you do for your mother on Mother’s Day?

Every Mother’s Day, the night before, my brothers and I hand-draw cards and put flowers and presents on her table. She sleeps early, so she always wakes up to a surprise!

What’s the one lesson you’d want to give your children?

I have always taught my children to be caring, grateful and giving. I’ve always stressed about the importance of prioritising with family and strength in unity. There is nothing more important than the strong bonds between all three of my children!

In your experience, when can mothers tell they are being lied to?

I can always tell! Their body language is very uncomfortable! However, I know my children very well and they don’t really feel the need to lie to me!

What’s the best thing about getting a day to celebrate motherhood?

My children make Mother’s Day a very big deal! It’s really caring and involves thoughtful presents and celebrations! It makes one feel special and grateful!

The best way to live is to be close to family and to be surrounded by my grandchildren!

I think anytime you see your children happy it’s the best feeling ever! There aren’t specific moments, you just constantly pray for their happiness!

When you’re a grandmother you enjoy quality time together without having the responsibilities of motherhood! We get to play the fun role!
