Women’s Cricket Team: Kinnaird students honoured by varsity

The students bagged the player of the match title in three matches of the tournament

LAHORE: Kinnaird College for Women held a reception on Monday for students of the college who represented Pakistan in the World T20 World Cup in India, held under the umbrella of International Cricket Council. Four students of the college – Anam Amin, Sidra Amin, Iram Javed and Aliya Riaz – were members of the women’s cricket team. Principal Rukhsana David said extracurricular activities played a significant role in building the personality and character of students. “It polishes their hidden creative skills.” She lauded the students’ performance in the ICC T20 World Cup. The students bagged the player of the match title in three matches of the tournament. Anam Amin won the title twice while playing against West Indies and Bangladesh. Sidra Amin was declared player of the match against the host team after she scored a half century. The ICC also selected Anam Amin in its World T20 Women Dream Team. David said they were the pride of the nation.
