Deployments: Tight security for Golra Sharif anniversary

Walk-through gates and checking points to be established at the shrine.

ISLAMABAD: The two-day annual anniverssary of the Golra Sharif will kick off today. The city administration has made strict security arrangements for the mega event that his attended by thousands of devotees of Golra Sharif who come from across the country.

Over 200 police personnel have been deployed at and around the Golra Sharif shrine. Walk-through gates and checking points will be established with the help of the shrine administration to check the men and women coming to offer their respect at the shrine.

Police had carried out reconnaisance of the area before establishing pickets and checkpoints at the entrance routes of the shrine. Alternate and emergency routes will be set up for people entering and exiting the area.

More than 175 police officials will be deployed on the inner cordon of the security set up while the remaining personnel will be deployed at the checking points. They would have the help of sniffer dogs and officials of bomb disposal squads.

The shrine volunteers will also assist the police in the security arrangements. The event will end on Sunday.
