Sindh to speed NAP enforcement

The government is committed to implementing the NAP in true letter and spirit, CM House spokesperson said

KARACHI: The Karachi corps commander met the Sindh chief minister on Tuesday to discuss the ongoing operation in Karachi and implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) against terrorism.

Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar and Qaim Ali Shah discussed the overall law and order situation in the province and the targeted operations against criminals among other issues during the one-on-one meeting.

The CM House spokesperson said the implementation of apex committee’s decisions like the establishment of more anti-terrorism courts, strengthening of investigation process and proper follow-up of high-profile cases were also discussed.

According to the spokesperson, CM Shah directed newly appointed Sindh police chief AD Khawaja to strengthen the investigation system in support of strong prosecution.

“The government is committed to implementing the NAP in true letter and spirit, and the police are also being strengthened by procuring necessary equipment,” the spokesperson added.
