Combatting kidney diseases: Liaquat hospital hosts awareness seminar

Public awareness programmes help the general public as well as the general practitioners

The Liaquat National Hospital (LNH) and Medical College arranged a public awareness programme on the occasion of the World Kidney Day at its Convention Centre on Thursday.


Public awareness programmes help the general public as well as the general practitioners and doctors to provide better primary health care in the community, saud LNH medical-director Dr Salman Faridi.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kunwer Naveed Mukhtar, head of the department of nephrology highlighted the alarming increase in renal diseases in all age groups especially in children.

He briefed the participants regarding problems related with nephrology and preventive measures that can be taken to reduce the common problems related to kidney.

Dr Farzana Adnan, Dr Naila Asif and Dr Shafqat Waqar Khanzada also spoke on the occasion, highlighting the increasing number of kidney patients in Pakistan and advising the general public to take appropriate measures to prevent kidney related diseases.
