As many as 15 cops were given various departmental punishments by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Muhammad Wisal Fakhar Raja for dereliction of duty, poor investigation and other charges.


According to a Rawalpindi police spokesperson, the RPO took action against the officers in accordance with the law during a meeting held at the RPO office, which he chaired.

The spokesperson informed that an inspector and two assistant sub-inspectors were handed punishments of forfeiture of one year service while two SIs were punished and also demoted.

Two years service of Inspector Malik Allah Yar was also forfeited on charge of poor performance as SHO Police Station Waris Khan.

SI Risalat Hussain was penalised with demotion and made ASI while two years service of SI Anayat Hussain was also forfeited.

ASI Nadeem Akhtar and ASI Iftikhar Ahmed of New Town Police Station were awarded punishments of forfeiture of two years service for poor performance.

Further, SI (Legal) was directed to hold an inquiry against Inspector Nasir Jamal Shah and ASI Ijaz Ahmed for poor investigation in a case registered in the Rawat Police Station.

Wisal Fakhar also ordered the transfer of Inspector Muhammad Aslam from Attock to Rawalpindi district.
