The Sindh High Court (SHC) directed on Monday the Gulberg police station SHO to make efforts for the recovery of a four-year-old child who went missing in December, 2015.

Headed by Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, the division bench was hearing a petition seeking the whereabouts of the minor child. The boy's mother, Haseena, informed the court that she had settled in Karachi's Mianwali Colony after the death of her husband during floods in their hometown in Punjab. She added that her four-year-old son, Sajjad alias Dada, went missing from outside her house on the evening of December 22, 2015. She pleaded the court order the police authorities to locate the whereabouts of her son.

On Monday, the Gulberg SHO filed a progress report, stating an FIR of kidnapping/abduction of the minor had been lodged under Section 364-A of the Pakistan Penal Code. The officer added that efforts were being made for Sajjad's recovery. Adjourning the hearing till January 18, the judges directed the Gulberg police station SHO to make efforts for the recovery of the missing child.
