PM Nawaz reaches Malta

PM will present Pakistan’s point of view at the summit during sessions to discuss violent extremism and radicalism

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Malta on Thursday to participate in the 24th Commonwealth heads of government meeting. The summit is held every two years and the theme this year is “Adding Global Value”.


The premier will present Pakistan’s point of view at the summit during sessions to discuss violent extremism and radicalism, sustainable development goals and migration. The premier was received at the Luqa International Airport in Valletta by Maltese Foreign Minister George William Vella, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tunisia Zaheer Pervaiz Khan and officials of the Malta government.

Regional cooperation: PM Nawaz returns after two-day Uzbekistan visit

Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry are accompanying the PM for the Commonwealth meeting to take place on Friday and Saturday. Pakistan is part of the 53 Commonwealth states, which make up one-fourth of the United Nations countries and thus has impact on the UN policies.
