PESHAWAR:

Chief Minister Pervez Khattak approved the creation of posts to establish camp courts and registry offices of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Services Tribunal (KPST) in Abbottabad, DI Khan and Swat.

He strictly directed the finance department not to impose any unjustified cuts on the new posts demanded by government departments and institutions for effective service delivery. Khattak said the government had no shortage of financial resources to meet these targets. The CM issued these orders while presiding over a meeting on the affairs of the KPST at the CM Secretariat on Monday. K-P Advocate General, Lateef Yusafzai, KPST Chairman Azeem Afridi, Administration and Establishment department Secretary Hassan Mahmood Yusafzai, Law Secretary Muhammad Arifeen, Additional Advocate General Adeel Butt, Assistant Advocate General Kabeer Khattak and other officers attended the meeting.

He also sought a report from the finance department on the government’s proposal to withdraw official houses and vehicles from officers and increase their salaries by two or three fold.

In response to the problems and proposals presented by the advocate general and KPST chairman, Khattak assured that all requirements of the tribunal would be provided to ensure the smooth and early disposal of service cases and disputes of government servants.

He directed authorities to consider the feasibility of the idea of constructing a separate service tribunal complex and asked that the Finance department work out a proposal to grant financial autonomy to the tribunal.
