ABBOTABAD:

Tehreek Huqooq-e-Hazara (THH) Spokesperson Naeem Sarwar has demanded all district nazims should be taken on board to discuss the Provincial Finance Commission (PFC) award, stated a press release issued on Thursday.

According to the document, Sarwar urged all major stakeholders should be included in the decision-making process.

“Media reports have revealed that the provincial government has only included a select group of local government representatives from a few districts in the PFC,” the press release quoted Sarwar as saying. “As a result, it has ignored the needs of the majority.”

Sarwar added the government should make a consistent effort to ensure the PFC award is indisputable.

“The government must take all district nazims and opposition party leaders on board,” the statement quoted him as saying. “This will generate a constructive debate on the allocation of funds.”

The THH spokesperson said all stakeholders should play an active role in the decision-making process.

Sarwar said all variables – including poverty rates, population and revenue – must be taken into account.

“They should rely on valid information on these indicators instead of dubious data,” the document quoted him as saying.
