Irregularities Alleged: LHC summons Gymkhana Club record

Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah adjourned the hearing of the petition till December 15

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) directed the Punjab government on Tuesday to submit record of the Lahore Gymkhana Club’s registration and membership. The court was hearing a petition filed by Zia Shahid Wasir, who alleged violation of merit in awarding memberships to 350 influential people. He said that the club management had awarded memberships to hundreds of people, including Abdul Aleem Khan, Kashmala Tariq and Fareeha Pervez, in violation of rules. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah adjourned the hearing of the petition till December 15 and directed the government to submit the record.
