Lawyers celebrate poll victory with gunfire

Following the announcement of the annual election results of the District Bar Faisalabad, lawyers reportedly opened fire inside the district court premises in celebration, creating panic among their colleagues and court staff.

Despite extensive police arrangements, including deployment of officers in uniform and plain clothes, authorities were unable to immediately stop the celebratory gunfire.

According to reports, the election process concluded yesterday, after which the Chairman of the Election Commission announced the results for the president, secretary and other newly elected office-bearers of the District Bar Association.

In response, some lawyers fired shots into the air to celebrate their respective candidates' victories. Videos of the incidents quickly went viral on social media. During the gunfire, one lawyer reportedly attempted to fire a pistol when a bullet became jammed in the chamber, preventing any injuries.
