Disenfranchisement: Protesting for PK-95 results

The K-P ameer warned protests will start from November 26 in the provincial capital

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) K-P Ameer Mushtaq Ahmad Khan warned the Election Commission of Pakistan of protests if the electoral results of PK-95, Lower Dir-II were not announced. He was talking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Monday. Mushtaq Ahmad said, “We won the election with a clear margin.” He added the election was fair and everyone, including women, participated in polls. According to Mushtaq Ahmad, Aizazul Mulk Afkari, president of JI in Dir, won the election and must be declared winner. Constituency PK-95 was vacated by JI Ameer Sirajul Haq after he was elected senator. The by-elections were held on May 7, however, results have not been announced. The K-P ameer warned protests will start from November 26 in the provincial capital, which will be followed by a massive protest at chief of Election Commission of Pakistan’s office in Islamabad. He added a dharna would be held until the results are announced.
