"It is my desire to play a series against India before I retire, and as far as retirement is concerned I have taken no decision on it. When I do I will inform the cricket board (PCB) about it," Misbah told journalists in Lahore, as quoted by CricBuzz.
Meanwhile, the chances of a Pakistan-India series seem minimal after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan rejected the offer made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to play the series in India.

Shahryar cited security as the biggest concern for not travelling to the neighbouring country after the Hindu right-wing party protests forced him to comeback from India without meeting the BCCI President Shashank Manohar.
However, as per the MoU, Pakistan are supposed to host the series - in UAE - and the PCB is still keen to have it that way.

Misbah retired from the 50-over format after Pakistan were knocked out of the 2015 World Cup in the quarter-finals.
Shahryar urged Misbah to stay till the England series next year and the veteran captain says he wants to be fit for the series, if he decides to lead the team in it.
"If I decide to go to England I will go there fully prepared and I would also like to see our team go there ready for the challenge. Our team is capable of winning anywhere," said Misbah.
