Sea Spark 2015: Navy chief visits troops at Sir Creek

Navy chief was given a detailed briefing on various operational aspects encompassing tactical planning and execution

As Pakistan Navy’s biennial military exercise Sea Spark 2015 continues, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah Sunday visited the Sir Creek Area, the maritime frontier with India.


He visited various forward posts along Sir Creek to review operational readiness of deployed troops and equipment. He also interacted with the Special Services Group SSG (N) and the marines deployed in the area. Owing to the intricate nature of the terrain comprising marshes, swamps and unpredictable waterways, this area is defended by the navy’s marine force.

According to a navy spokesperson, Admiral Zakaullah was given a detailed briefing on various operational aspects encompassing tactical planning and execution.

While interacting with troops, the navy chief stressed upon the importance of this strategic area which serves as a maritime border with India. He also highlighted the navy’s role in safeguarding country's maritime interests.

“Defending these critical frontiers of the country needs selfless devotion and professionalism of highest order,” said the navy chief.

He expressed satisfaction on troop preparations and lauded their professional conduct and dedication.

The navy chief was accompanied by Commander Coast Rear Admiral Syed Bashir Ahmed and Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff Operations, Rear Admiral Kaleem Shaukat.
