‘Klexos’ is a collection of 14 mixed media pieces on plastic sheets.
They exude a lively-cum-funky vibe, depicting a visual documentation and preservation of memories in a rich palette of bright colours, blended with shades of charcoal.
Suleman, who graduated from National College of Arts Rawalpindi with a painting major in 2012 and has exhibited her work in group shows in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad ever since, brings out the ordinary in an interesting and extraordinary way. She uses mixed media to highlight memories, feelings and emotions and amplifies them in a rather subtle detail. She dissolves the noise into loud splashes of colours that stand out in shades of charcoal and assume a bizarre and impulsive harmony.

“The work displayed in this exhibition is particularly unique. Suleman has been working on this collection since a while and has blended watercolours and acrylics with charcoal pencil and used bits of newspaper.
It is after very long that we are exhibiting something like this and art connoisseurs will be pleased to see
diversity,’ said Zara Sajid, the curator at MyArtWorld, while speaking to The Express Tribune.
One reason why this work stands out from masses is that she used thin polyester film sheets in grey, unlike most artists. The art pieces exhibited in the show are framed with a glass layer, which adds to their beauty and makes them appear rather posh.
“This particular series, Klexos, is undeniably close and dear to my heart. It is a visual documentation and preservation of the memories that have affected me and how that has moulded me into the person that I am today,” said Suleman. She further said that every piece of the collection is a unique anatomical study, using various mediums with miniaturesque detail in layers, on a semi-translucent plastic sheets.
The exhibition continues till November 13.
