The newly restored Khan bond seems to be going strong.

At a press conference of Salman's upcoming film  Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, the actor opened up about SRK being termed a 'Pakistani agent' for his remarks on the growing religious intolerance in India.

Shah Rukh Khan 'lives in India, heart is in Pakistan': BJP leader

At first the actor refrained from delving into the controversy following comments targeted towards Shah Rukh. He urged people to "think over it themselves" by saying, "This is not the platform. Let's discuss the film," reports NDTV.

But the media managed to probe Salman forcing him to open up. "Aap khud socho. We all under one roof, does it make a difference? Does it matter to you whoever is sitting here? It doesn't. We all are Indians," he said.

In a jovial manner he added, "He (SRK) says something and then I have to come and (explain)," reports Pinkvilla.

Further commenting on the intolerance in India, Salman said, "I opened Being Human... We don't go asking people, who they are and where they are from. I don't believe in this."

PRDP co-star, Sonam Kapoor, who was also present at the event said, "Anything that is intolerant or that is said without complete evidence is unacceptable, so people just saying things in the name of religion, class, creed is disgusting and I think we should rest what we have to say at that point."

Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan, who's next film Raees stars Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, was targeted for extending support to his co-star and other cross-border talents against the ban imposed by Shiv Shena.

“Shah Rukh Khan lives in India, but his heart is in Pakistan. His films make crores here but he finds India intolerant,” BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, among many others, hit out at the actor in a series of tweets.

Nobody can stop Pakistani actors from working in Bollywood: Salman Khan

SRK, who is routinely told to go to Pakistan, told NDTV that he finds it degrading to keep proving his patriotism and he wouldn't be leaving India. He has not responded to any of the comments made by the BJP leaders.

Apart from Salman, Bollywood fraternity among many others took to Twitter to show their support for King Khan with #IStandWithSRK:

p r sharma | 8 years ago | Reply @abz2000: What intolerance is seen now . Citing three stray incidents .Does three incidents in the populace of 125 crores is sufficient to blame the whole of India for growing intolerance. AND blaming Modi government for such incidents is merely a political move and white lies and SRK has become a part of this false propaganda citing religion. This will obviously attract criticism. freedom of Speech is for SRK , writers returning the award and equally to his critics. All those claiming the growing intolerance in indian society could not cite more than three incidents and deliberately ignored the incidents and events of religious harmony mutual help and peaceful living . . Any comments or incidents which are unjust has been condemned by the majority but highlighting the selective narrative indicates a planned political move which is hollow. A peaceful debate on the issue can be better alternative.
Afzal | 8 years ago | Reply @Mudassir: "Before you lose, I am a Pakistani". If someone has shown the gesture of welcoming Khans to Pakistan it is not because they are living in poverty but because they are being told by their fellow Countrymen that they are not true Indians. Your reaction is inappropriate and despite your Pak ID your poor perception of Pakistan makes one suspect your true ID. If you still insist on hiding, you should be made to kneel down in a "bent darling position" and asked to reveal who you are. If you keep lying then someone will have to go lose on U ! What is your definition of luxury and why do you think it is not possible to have luxurious life style in Pakistan. Luxury does not necessarily mean sleeping with multiple Bollywood women after all. I agree though that Khans should not have to go to any other country simply because India belongs to them as much as to those RSS loonies. Have peace!
