Deadline Approaching: 3.9m Afghans repatriated in 13 years
The repatriation of registered Afghan citizens is guided by the Tripartite Agreement signed between Pakistan
ISLAMABAD:
Ministry of States and Frontier Regions on Wednesday announced that over 3.9 million Afghan refugees have been voluntarily repatriated during the last 13 years. During current year, till October 15, around 55,604 individual registered Afghan refugees have been repatriated while there are at present 1.53 million registered and estimated one million un-documented Afghans living in Pakistan. The repatriation of registered Afghan citizens is guided by the Tripartite Agreement signed between Pakistan, Afghanistan and UNHCR valid up to December 31, 2015.
