Behind Bars: Four suspected militants arrested

Faiz Talab Abbas, who runs a private educational institution, is said to have received extortion threats

BANNU: The Bannu Special Police Unit arrested four suspected militants allegedly involved in extortion and terrorist activities. The names of the alleged militants are Umar Ali, Zafran Ali, Waliur Rehman and Barkat Ali. Umar Ali’s son was killed in the initial stages of Operation Zarb-e-Azb. Waliur Rehman’s two brothers, Arifullah and Mir Qadir, were fighters in a banned group. The brothers were wanted by the police on multiple charges and found dead in Marwat Kanal. Barkat Ali used to supply extortion money to his brother Afsar Ali who was a commander of a faction of a banned group. Further information is expected to be extracted from the offenders soon. Faiz Talab Abbas, who runs a private educational institution, is said to have received extortion threats over the phone from the supsects.
