The new initiative
Since the beginning of this traffic initiative, wardens have been seen making efforts to make the new system work. Education and awareness campaigns have been organised by the police department, some of which were praised by the community.
Addressing the ceremony, the IGP described traffic wardens as the “beautiful face of K-P police”. He urged the award recipients to act as role models and care for the expectations of the public.
Durrani added, “The discipline of a nation can be gauged from its traffic system. A single sergeant represents the entire force while he is on duty. It is important to win the trust and confidence of locals through good body language and professional legal action to ensure safety on the roads.”
Essence of the city
The IGP said it was a matter of great pride and satisfaction that citizens are satisfied with traffic wardens. “Every officer of the K-P police force is unmatched in their valour, courage and bravery,” he added. Durrani directed wardens to perform their duties with honour, even if that meant impounding all types of vehicles without number plates. They were directed to remain vigilant and avoid using mobile phones while on the road.
Recipients of the award included Hafizur Rahman, Siraj Khan, Muhammad Hayat, Faqir Hussain, Asif Kamran Afridi, Anees Ahmad, Zeshan, Anwar Khan, Asif Raza, Khalid, Muhammad Farhan, Shakeel, Irfanullah, Ashfaq Ahmad and Qari Irfan.
