Election violence: DCO, CPO visit hospital

Surgeon Javed Iqbal told the officials that one of the injured, Adnan, had been shot in the stomach

District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorul Amin Mengal and City Police Officer Afzal Ahmed Kosar visited Allied Hospital on Sunday to inquire after the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) workers who were injured in a firing incident on Saturday.


The workers were injured when shots were fired on their election rally in Alipura near Korianwala Pul.

The officials reviewed the treatment being provided to the injured. They asked the doctors to provide the best facilities to the injured. They also expressed sorrow over the incident and said that all efforts would be made to apprehend the suspects.

Surgeon Javed Iqbal told the officials that one of the injured, Adnan, had been shot in the stomach. “We have performed a surgery on him and he is being kept in the ICU,” he said.

Three other injured in the incident are admitted to the DHQ hospital. One of the injured has been discharged from hospital after receiving treatment, the officials were informed.
